A downloadable zine

Zines of Evernost

Every month for a bit, I hope to release a zine of Evernost : a digestible chunk of my enormous project. Each will take 3-5 forms:

  1. Amazon ebook
  2. Amazon paperback (if it's long enough)
  3. Physical zine
  4. Printable pdf that you can fold and sew or staple into a zine (that's what I'm putting on this page)
  5. Zinegamething (HTML/CSS/JavaScript interactive version)

They'll tend to be poetry or weird prose.

Theme & Explorations

I just released my first, Theme & Explorations (blurb: Reader, this little zine contains a poem (the Theme) narrating a (the?) central myth of my series Evernost, combined with a brief but dense exegesis: playful and nondenominational; if Dante can do it in the Vita Nuova, and St. John of the Cross can do it, why shouldn't I revive such a medieval tradition?)as follows:

  1. Amazon ebook: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FHN9BMMG/
  2. Amazon paperback: they're still processing
  3. (there are physical zines but unless you're lucky enough to live where I do you probably will not see them)
  4. Printable PDF (the downloadable thing here)
  5. Zinegamething (forthcoming, will get its own itch link and be downloadable or playable in the browser)

Install instructions

It's a PDF zine!

Steps to get it in order:

  1. Print it double sided (portrait orientation), flipping on the long edge (it's black and white; no need for color printing)
    1. If your printer doesn't do double sided automatically, here are instructions on doing it manually: https://www.instructables.com/Doubled-Sided-Printing-at-Home/
  2. Cut along the dotted lines
  3. You should have half-sheets of paper with four pages on them. Fold them in half so that the smallest odd page number is on top with the fold facing to the left
  4. Nest them inside one another with 1 on the outside, 3 inside it, 5 inside that, and so forth
  5. Staple or sew pamphlet-stitch, like so: https://blog.papercraftpanda.com/tutorial-how-to-create-a-simple-book-using-the-...
    1. Bonus if you add a cover made of cardstock or interesting paper with your own art

What to do with it then:

  1. Read it!!
  2. Put it in a little free library so someone else can read it too!
  3. Throw a comment or rating on this page!

Sound like too much work?

  • There is a $0.99 ebook on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FHN9BMMG/
  • Soon there will be a free, browser-readable zinegamething along the lines of my other homemade JavaScripty creations
