Jennie's Room - Launch
The lasting replacement for Happy New Year is out of the bag: Jennie’s Room!
It’s another browser-based zine-thing, a low-key, point-and-click collection of writing and art accessed as you snoop through the titular Jennie’s room.
Jennie is the main character of my huge white whale of a creative project, and this is her room, not in this world but elsewhere, in the ineffably glorious Evernost. Not that it’s easy to tell Evernost is ineffably glorious in the January of the soul (the material I bring out this year will all be about said January of the soul). January is not (for me at least) a month of lush fantasy or even exquisite beauty (though there are moments), but it is a month of new beginnings
One thing we do for New Year’s is take out the trash, literal and metaphorical. If the now-defunct Happy New Year is everything Jennie and I want out of our systems, think of this as some of the stuff we almost threw away but thought still had promise.
As always, art (created in meatspace and edited with Photoshop), code (vanilla JavaScript), music (a few tools, notably instruments from LMMS), and writing (except for the public-domain bits identified in Year of Readings) are mine.
